Job Description
The educator is the primary instructional delivery person in the classroom. Student achievement and growth are primarily dependent on the work and efforts of the classroom teacher. The position is demanding, varied and complex. The classroom teacher must be a relationship builder, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies
Responsibilities:
- Teach Social Studies classes.
- Develops a balanced social studies program involving factual background
material, material on current events, discussion time, and other appropriate activities designed to encourage pupils to develop skills and attitudes, draw
conclusions, achieve improved interpersonal relationships, and make value judgments based on scientific methods of inquiry.
- Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the
curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds.
- Maintains standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Grading assignments and quizzes in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education.
- Performs other duties as many, from time to time be assigned by the supervisor.
